Re: MNO Grand River Métis Council
Consistent with the Metis Nation of Ontario Community Charter agreement, By-laws and Community Council electoral code, a ballot box election has been called to fill vacancies and renew mandates of the MNO Grand River Métis Council. All registered Métis Citizens in the Council area are encouraged to participate fully in this election process either as candidates or through exercising their right to vote.
The area of the council includes;
South/West to South/East Border
Beginning where Hwy 6 and Hwy 8 intersect just west of Hickson, follow Hwy 8 east through Hickson; at Bright proceed south on Hwy 22 then East on Drumbo Road Hwy 29 which turns into Hwy 19, North on Hwy 24A Pinehurst Road. Follow Hwy 28 Glen Morris Rd W to East River Rd Hwy 14 to Brant Rd 24 turning East onto Township Road 4E / Maple Manor Rd to Concession W
to Safari Road Hwy 501 East until it intersects with Hwy 6. Follow Hwy 6 North until intersection of Hwy 6 and Carlisle Road at Breezys Corners. Follow Carlisle Road North East to Kilbride. At Kilbride continue East on 8th Side Road to Guelph Line. Follow Guelph Line South to Lowville. At
Lowville follow Britannia Road North East to Walkers Line, follow Walkers Line South to 2nd Side Road. Follow 2nd Side Road through Zimmerman to where 2nd Side Road Intersects with Hwy 22 (Tremaine Road).
South/East to North/East Border
Beginning where 2nd, Side Road intersects with Hwy 22 (Tremaine Road). Follow Hwy 22 (Tremaine Road) North to Milton Heights. At Milton Heights, follow Halton Hills Side Road North West to Crewsons Corners. At Crewsons Corners, follow Erin Eramosa Road North West to Simpson Corners. At Simpson Corners follow Hwy 26 North West to Belwood, proceeding North
on Hwy 19, which turns into Hwy 5 continuing to Side Road # 9 until it, intersects with Hwy 109 turning west to side road # 7.
North/East to North/West Border
Beginning where 7th Side Road and Hwy 109 intersect, follow Hwy 109 West through Arthur; continue West on Hwy 109 through Teviotdale until Hwy 109 intersects with Hwy 23 at Palmerston.
North/West to South/West Border
Beginning at Palmerston, follow Hwy 23 South to Listowel, at Listowel follow Hwy 86 (Perth Line Road) South East to Tralee. At Tralee, follow Hwy 131 South through Milverton until Hwy 131 turns into Hwy 119. Follow Hwy 119 South East to Topping, continue South on Hwy 119 to Stratford. At Stratford follow Hwy 7 South West to Hwy 6, follow Hwy 6 South until Hwy 6
intersects with Hwy 8.

The Metis Canoe Expedition visited Cambridge on 15 June 2014. We had a fabulous turnout, learned some new to us Metis games, and had a feast of elk burgers, roast pig, salads and desserts. Thanks to all who came to support these young modern day voyageurs.
